third party air filter setup?

Post by steven0356 » Sun Feb 18, 2007 4:43 pm

I was having trouble starting my 1965 CA77 305 so I pulled the carburetor off to take a look. To my surprise there was no air filter attached. No box no hose no nothing. Someone had made a screen that when over the carburetor inlet, but there was no filter. Is there any third party air filter setup that will work for this bike? it looks like the stock setup is a bit of a pain anyway. If not, does anyone know where i can get an original one?

Thanks as always for the help.

Air filters for the CA77 Dream are very hard to find, and if you do manage to find one, they are pretty expensive. My primary interest in motorcycles is riding, so it is not as important to me to be 100% original like show bikes. I cured my air filter issue by using a K&N RU-0160 Universal Rubber Filter. They run about $35.00, but you can clean and reuse them forever. It clamps right on to the carburetor and is hidden beneath the carb covers so no one knows anyway.
