what size jet do I need?

Post by steven0356 » Mon Feb 26, 2007 9:33 am

I am trying to figure out what size jet I need for my 65 305 CA77. Someone has put a 27 in there and I am having problems with my plugs fouling, so my guess is that the jets to big.

The bike mufflers have no baffle and I am using the air filter below.

Anyone wont to guess what size a jet I might need?

by the way what size is the stock jet?

Thanks as always

Steve

Are the plugs fouling while riding or idling?

Stock should be a 120 main and a 35 slow if I remember right.

I also run that same filter with open mufflers. I think I'm running a 125 main and stock slow. Also made an adjustment to the needle. BUT I am running rich at high speed. I need to check my main again and probably drop it down to a smaller size. I might be running a 130 right now can't remember. Anybody know what size main comes in the Keyster kit? I think that is what I am running.

Try adjusting the main needle up one notch.Mine was fouling and that fixed mine.

I will check it out but i think thats the plug.

before the plugs foul the bike runs like a bat out of hell. it starts right up and runs strong. then I get about 5 miles down the road and one of the plugs goes bad. it has a black oily look to it but it smells like gas. Also the bike has very good compression and does not burn oil.

very frustrating
