What is the best sealent to hold the bowl gasket on? thanks

Then whats to keep it from movig while putting the bowl back on after I work on it on the bike?The original seemed to be held in place with something?thanks

Doesn't your carb have a flange on the body? If the gasket falls off when I remove the bowl, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't, I just put it on top of the bowl and then place the bowl back on the carb. The flange helps to align it if I remember right.

Just DON'T use silicone! That stuff is not good around gasoline. Steve Greer

The (glue?) Honda used was to keep the gasket in place as the carb was assembled.
When the gasket needs to be replaced a NOS one will stay in place because the prongs for the float shaft will hold it. .....lm
