High Altitude Jetting

Post by asriro » Fri Jul 13, 2007 1:56 am

I have a 305 Dream, mint condition. I just moved it up to South Lake Tahoe (6,250 feet above sea level) from San Francisco (sea level) and it doesn't run. I want to re-jet, and I have a 35 slow jet and a 130 main jet. I was advised to reduce the slow jet to a 30 and the main jet to a 120 or 125. I was able to order the main jets at sizes 120 and 125 but it seems the 35 slow jet is the smallest available. Does anyone have any suggestions? The needle is already in its lowest position. I know not much about carburators and thus would appreciate any advice - even perhaps changing to a different carb which is easier to rejet at higher altitudes. Thank you for your kind consideration. Sincerely, Andrew
