Hi Joe -- I'm planning on going on Sunday morning and see how the beast does in the show. I tried to make a weekend out of it a couple of years ago and found it to be not as I had hoped. Lots of rusty stuff in a muddy field, no planned rides, lots of 'bench racing' if you're into that, but the food is decent enough (they have an on-site caff). I wish they'd organize some kind of Saturday or Sunday morning ride with the event -- the event is in an area with such lovely roads that it's a crying shame that some kinds of rides aren't organized. Plus, it's touted as being a very important vintage Japanese swap meet ("...one of the highlights for Vintage Japanese collectors" and "...one of the oldest Vintage Japanese meets in the country"), so I would hope that there would be more going on but, alas, no such luck. If someone has a different perspective on it, please let us know!

Vince-I have been down there a few times looking for parts for my CA77 and it really is not that big a deal. The first time I went I thought it would be alot bigger. But, beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess. If there is something there you need then it was a great swap meet.I only stay to look around for acouple of hours and then come home.I live about 45 minutes from there.Joe

Hi again Joe -- I wouldn't mind so much that the show isn't a big deal, but it's the way it's touted that I think misleads people (not that they're going to say 'come to a vintage Japanese show that's not a big deal'). When I tried to make a weekend out of the event a couple of years ago, I met a fellow from Michigan who flew from Detroit to Dulles (west of DC), rented a car and drove from the airport in Northern Virginia all the way to White Rose -- talk about a production! Needless to say, he came away very disappointed (and this is a guy who goes all over the place showing his beautifully restored Japanese bikes and is heavily involved in the VJMC). I really think it COULD be more than it actually is (rides, showing motorcycle-related movies on Saturday night, presentations of some kind, whatever), but for some reason none of that occurs. Who knows, maybe I'm just an unreasonable complainer who is expecting too much....

I was wondering what the date for this is. I haven't been in about 7/8 years as I moved away. I'm back and live between Gettysburg and Waynesboro Pa. and need a few items to finish my 67 Super Hawk. Thanks
