Turns over, but won't fire

I have a 66 305, that I can't get to fire. I have spark, I have fuel going into the carb resevoir, I have adjusted the needle up and down. Could it be just out of time or is there something else I need to adjust.

If you did not check the timing it may be a good idea to do so.Did you adjust the points gap also? Are the plugs new?Did you clean the carb?Do you have the adjustment screws set properly?Hows compression?Did you check your valve adjustments?Needle should be in the middle position. If you have a can of starter fluid spray it in the carb and try starting it.This may tell you if your not getting fuel to the pistons if it runs briefly. Are you choking it?Try these things and lets us know.Joe

it was bad spark plugs, i was testing them wrong. Got a new set and she fired right up. Almost road worthy. Need to work on the clutch next
