I love this thread, because I embarrass myself numerous times within it's 5 pages. Humility reminder.

wondering what the opinion on windshields is here. I'm leaning towards a 'no' as it seems like it would just be another thing to seperate me from why i want to be riding... but with little experience i thought i'd ask you folks.

well painted her over the course of yesterday and today.

color chosen by the girlfriend who has helped out a lot on the bike, and been very understanding with the time i spend on it.
crazy red heads and their love of all things teal/green.
it's a bit greener than the picture shows, not sure why it didn't translate to picture.

it has that orange-peel look, that i'd imagine some wet sanding would take care of, but being as uneducated on the topic as i am, i'm not sure if the paint has any hardeners in it and if that would actually help or not. I guess I'll buff it and see how it looks then. whatever the case, for a 50 dollar paint job, it'll hold for the summer. Come winter i'm going to have it done at a shop, and take the green towards more of that british racing green i've seen here and there on 60's bikes.

Found a guy in colorado that has a valley cover for me and maybe a chain guard.
if not, i'll go ahead and order one from tim.

I need to make the switch to a 65 tach, and if i recall the engine was quite noisy when i first bought it and started her up. Might be some work there.

Hey, nice color. Here's a tip, I heard,on how to make your paint job last. Remove the gas cap, sand to bare metal, the edge, that is covered, by the cap. Mix some fiberglass resin, brush on the bare metal and edge of paint. This is supose to be the way pros doit

interesting. I was wondering a bit about that while doing it.
Whatever the case, after much reading and some practice i plan on painting her this winter again. If i dont' feel my acquired knowledge is up to par, i'll just have a shop do it.

thanks for the info!
