1965 Superhawk CB77I didn't really think about it when i took my old tires to get fitted with some cheng shins.... but they put the front tire tread on backwards. I guess there is no tread indicator on the originals, as the original tread was straight :p
I think i'll probably be fine until i can find the time to ride the bike in and have them correct this for me, but lame regardless. Just need to buy that 50 dollar starter off ebay, a new battery, a new drive chain, and I'm good to go. Later on the list is new K&N airfilters, new brake shoes (recommendations? or just pick up some nos of ebay?) and i recall reading non detergent straight 30 was the best for the bike as far as oil goes... but i don't know oil variants from a rats ass, and the closest to that description I saw in the store was SAE- 0W-30 is that it? '66 CB450k0 '93 HD FXR I bought a valley cover from a guy, turns out it's for a scrambler.
I figure this because it has an extra notch on it above the notch for the dipstick, and it seems to me that it sits a bit high, but i don't know about that for sure. I'm fine with the notch, but if she's supposed to be sitting lower, i'll look for a cb77 engine cover and sell this one i've got here. any ideas, or pictures of how your CB77 cover sits? '65 CB77

The parts are the same for the CB72/77 and CL72/77. The difference is that the 1961/62 didn't have the notch because the top vent tube went along and down the large frame tube and ended in front of the rear wheel. The 63 and later years the tube went down along the rear of the head was attached with a open clamp which was held in place with the upper left cam tensioner bolt then through that notch and along the top case under the bracket and exited through the hole below the wire bundle grommet. ............lm
RIDE IT DON'T HIDE IT!
Gun,
Concerning the oil, just go look for it on the rack it's there. Don't ask if you can help it. Also when dealing with the parts store clowns just tell them what you need and be insistant, they like to think they know more than you. Here at my local store the guy just turns the computer screen in my direction and let's me look for what I want. Ron Ron Cribbs
