Concerning the oil, just go look for it on the rack it's there. Don't ask if you can help it. Also when dealing with the parts store clowns just tell them what you need and be insistant, they like to think they know more than you.

Here at my local store the guy just turns the computer screen in my direction and let's me look for what I want.

Got the flat bars on without a manual. I guess we'll see how good I am at puzzle solving.

just gotta get the cables shortened, and take the chain back in to the shop. The first kid looked like he was more concerned about being cool working at a bike shop than actually working on bikes, and he said "I might be able to do that, but Scott usually handles that."
"and the cables? can you do those."
"Scott usually does."
"What do you usually do?"
"fix motorcycles."
"When does Scott come in?"
"monday."

This entire conversation, he's talking from behind some thick white rimmed sun glasses with fake diamond studs on them.

I'm pretty worried about letting these guys touch my cables. and probably wont.

Don't know anything about 'shortening' cables, but for the amount of money you'd spend to have it done, you might as well get new cables that are already the proper length.

Terry at Western Hills should have some, as well as Nick at Ohio Cycle, or Terry at RetroBikes.

I was just thinking that last night.

I could probably resell mine on ebay or something.
have to list them as Highbar or for a dream, assuming everything is the same there.

Oi, i wish i was back home. working with limited tools is a pain. Unless my buddy can free up some time this week, I'm going to have to make a trip on back so i can work with the timing/tuning of the bike.

Right now, I can get the bike to idle around 8-900 rpms, but the second i give it any throttle it kills.

Haven't done the timing yet, and maybe i'm mental for still riding it around, but had a nice ride this morning. seems like something blocked fuel flow at some point, because it got to the point that i couldn't get the bike over 25 mph today around noon. let it sit for half an hour and it ran just fine. I'm betting I got something floating around in my gas tank clogging jets or the like. a shame cuz i thought i cleaned it pretty well :/

got the seat all done.

The seat had a slight lift at the rear and wasn't flat OEM. Loosen the gas cap and ya will find the bike will continue to run/ride. ............lm
