Todays Ride.......

Post by deaddog » Thu Nov 29, 2007 3:04 pm

Well, getting to the end of the year and I have to “take time off or lose it”. So, took today off. Serviced the bike and found the centrifugal filter with much less residue then the last previous services, Drained fuel bowls and cleaned petcock filter, I did find signs of water (corrosion), I have found this on all services intervals at every 1000 miles.

Road to Lake Okeechobee, ran her at 6.500 RPM 80MPH on the long stretch west to the lake and East back. Logged 126 miles………………

Keep the faith SNOW BRIDS ……………

That's a bad ass motorbike. Nice to see a surviver. Cool color combo.. Mine should be back together in a month or so.

Here's today's ride (December 28th) in the Baltimore, Maryland area....about 45 degrees, although it sure didn't feel like it! Long johns, heavy pants, long sleeved shirt, sweater, wool vest, Belstaff Jacket, thick socks, boots, big warm gloves, and new Arai Profile Flag UK helmet (its maiden voyage). About 50 miles, really dreary (though dry!), and unfortunately no cozy place to stop for a coffee and pastry. Bike ran great though, and is ready to take on any 500!

Ah well, maybe Sunday morning will be better, though I'd rather be on a ride like this than just looking at the bike in the shed.

So, where did YOU ride today?????????????????????

A much better day to ride! Sunday January 6th (today!) is 50 degrees and sunny. Did 100 miles by going north of Baltimore through 'horse country'. Great winding roads and the traffic was fairly well behaved. Bike ran like a champ and hits 90 easy -- I had been concerned about the jetting because of the recent addition of the K&N filters, but the plugs look great, so I'm going to stop worrying. Of course, had to stop for the obligatory coffee and bagel (with cream cheese, naturally) at 'The Filling Station' on Falls Road (used to be a gas station way back when), and is a good place to meet up with other riders. Head north about 25 miles or so and you're in Pennsylvania and even better roads.

Tomorrow and Tuesday are supposed to be 60F but, alas, work takes over. Hope there are other people riding out there....let's hear from you!

Since no one else seems to be riding, I guess I'll post a shot of today's ride (Feb. 3rd). Nice 50 degree day, but didn't go too far (about 40 miles) -- mainly wanted to give the CA78 a bit of exercise as it's been sitting for a couple of months. The bike rides so nice and smooth...I'm tempted to do this year's road trip on this bike instead of the SuperHawk!

Though the groundhog saw his shadow yesterday, today felt like Spring is a little closer....

I did not know you had a dream too. I have had my bike out a lot, but mostly to the store and running the kids around town. Nothing picture worthy. It truly is a daily rider.
