Hi,

Not on the CB72 this weekend, but on the CB400f.
I drove from my hometown to Brussel (Belgium) to see a friend of my.
Cloudy weather but not raining (safes a hour or two cleaning)
Maintaining a constant speed of 130-170 km / hour,
let the engine screaming in fifth and sixt gear.

Wish I was there riding with you -- my wife and I have wanted to live in Dordrecht for about the last four years now. We almost had a chance to do just that last year, but then the global financial mess happened and scuttled our plans.

It seems that the CB400f is very popular in the UK and Europe - Classic Bike Mag always seems to be doing an article on them.

Four of us went out for a ride today - I ended up doing about 100 miles total, and the bike was screaming along the back roads just north of Baltimore. Hopefully my new Ateliers Ruby helmet will be here for the upcoming Labor Day weekend!

Hi Vince,

The CB400F is indeed popular in UK and some other parts in europe, but not really in the Netherlands, here the CB750 is a very popular machine (more power for higher speeds compared to the CB400F).

Why would you like to live in the Netherlands ?, not there is something wrong with that, just curious.
(I like to live in canada or australia, it's getting to busy here).

Next week, when I finished with the experiments of my CB72 generator, I will be making a trip on the CB72 to the north of the netherlands, to bolsward to be precise (family). If the CB72 is not ready yet, I'll take the blue screamer again.

It's mostly higway in a flat and three-less windy landscape and I need that extra power to maintain the speeds dictated by other cars (around 120 - 140 km/hr), so possibly I take the cb400f anyway.

My wife and children (2 sons, 4 years old and 9 years old) in the car, and me on the bike (you have to be a little crazy and combine things to have a family, a busy job, and few time consuming hobby's)

When you come over to Netherlands we can ride together, me on the cb400f (or the c77 dream) and you on my CB72, so give me emailme when you're planning to come across over the ocean.

I'm from Canada originally (wife is American), and we've actually been considering moving back there. But I prefer the Netherlands (maybe because I already know Canada?) and its proximity to other countries. Don't think I'd be wanting to ride my CB77 on the highways there though!

My wife lived in Europe for a number of years, and we've both been to the Netherlands for the last three years in a row. This year we're going to Vienna, and will probably be back to the Netherlands next year. But, we're more than likely going to be living here in the U.S for the time being. Nice to have options though!

Hmm...don't know about doing 140km/h on my CB77 for very long. 110km/h I could manage for extended periods of time, but don't know if other drivers would tolerate that. Mind you, I did get a speeding ticket near Breda last year (via the wonderful technological creation known as the speed camera), so I know you can't do 140 everywhere on the highway there.

Hi,

That's true, speeding camera's are also to be found here.
Just keep your eyes on the Garmin and the right side of the road.
Neerby citys you have to slow down a bit, that why there are camera's.
but in between city's, if you want to follow the rest you find yourself doing 130 or a bit faster.

I rather take the CB400f for these kind of speeds, there will be a reserve when needed.
