I only had one mishap, and it was probably a result of all those bumps (or frost heaves) on Rt. 209 from about Jim Thorpe, PA to Port Jervis. I stopped at a gas station for a fill-up, and was checking things out and noticed that my right header pipe was moving back and forth slightly, though all the bolts were nice and tight. To make a long story short, it turned out that the pipe was cracked at the point where it flanged out (the end going into the engine), and was hanging on by only the smallest bit of metal. As luck would have it, the next door neighbour of the B&B where I was staying in Rhinebeck had a son who was an artist who worked in metal, and he was able to MIG weld it. He did a beautiful job, and other than that and a chain adjustment, the bike ran great. I didn't take Rt. 209 back home though -- stuck to the interstates (84, 81 and 83) averaging 65mph.
