Bowl Seepage

Post by ggray » Tue Apr 29, 2008 4:14 pm

Hey guys,

I'm having a seepage problem with my LH carb on my 1965 CL.

I've pulled the bowl and changed gaskets as well as rechecked the float level. If anything, the float level may be a bit too short of the 1.043" per the book.

It only seeps at the back of the float bowl (the highest part), not the front lower area of the bowl.

I've also checked and rechecked the gasket surface of the bowl to make sure there weren't any high spots to keep the gasket from sealing.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Gary

the float might be full of gas, or the seat is loose or the needle tip scratched, not sealing off

Superchicken,

I've checked the floats for gas inside them....seem void of gas. I'll pull the needle and seat and see if they look OK.

Thanks for the reply.
