HELP WITH GASLINES HONDA 1967 CA77E

Post by nicoderm » Sat Jun 28, 2008 7:04 pm

I dont know how the gaslines are connected. can someone draw me a picture of how the gaslines are connect to the gas tank, reserve switch and carb . The reserve switch doesn't seen to work either and im not sure how its suppose to work.
Currently the gaslines are connected as follows,

gasline connected from the reserve switch to the carb
gasline connected from gas tank 1 side to the other.

the reserve switch when on, does not allow gas to flow into the carb.

Is petcock working in on position and not in the reserve? Also, did you turn on petcock with line disconnected from carb?If not try that.If fuel is present to carb. maybe your float needle is stuck. Also, I have seen where a carb. could get air bound and opening the small drain screw on the bowl would allow gas to start to flow.Your reserve tube and or passageway on the petcock may be blocked.Drain the tank and take off the bowl.Put the lever on reserve. If you have the small holes lined-up you could take a small wire and stick it up thru to see if will remove what is clogging it or take the petcock apart and find the clog. You seem to have fuel lines on right. One coming off the petcock to carb and one crossover .Picture shows some internal parts of petcock. Two holes on outer edges are fuel passages, one is for reserve and one for "on" position.Holes must line-up and be free of dirt when in corresponding position.Center hole is for a guide pin.Hope this makes sense?

All of the rubber pieces are corroded. The disc that has the stem on it is broken. So I need a rebuild kit. Have any ideas were I can get the parts?

Ebay is where I got mine.I think Retro Bikes is the seller of these and they have their own web site which you can find if you google them.If you want the Honda rubber piece you may want to check a dealer. You may get lucky on OEM parts. Also you could try Ohio Cycle or Western Hills Honda.
