Alittle about my 1967 ca77 dream

Post by nicoderm » Thu Jul 17, 2008 10:11 pm

I got this bike in mid June. 7000 original miles. When i got it, it still has the 1978 license plate on it and came with the original title. I rebuilt the petcock and carb and did a basic tune up on it. New tires. The only thing that was broken on it was the taillight and missing 1 emblem. It has a little surface rust. Other than that its all there and untouched since 1978. It must have been stored. Thanks to everyone that helped me on this. So heres some pictures. These pictures were taken before i started to work on it. I was on the road with it all day. Runs great. the only thing im worried about is taking it on the highway. I got it to 60 on the highway, but its such a small bike. im abit nerves.

If everything is in good order there is no reason to be scared to do 60 on it going down the highway. I do it all the time.

well i got on the highway today and hit a nice bump at 55. wow i think i could use some petter shock. Minnesota roads suck. One thing i dont like is not having turn signals. especially on the highway. this is going take some getting use to.

Nic, 60 mph on the hiway should be OK, just take care of the shocks and it should be a pleasent ride! Kustommusic

be careful on those old tires.
60mph is fine with good tires, and a fresh drive chain.
oh! and watch out for those bumps :-)

What they said - get new rubber and don't worry about the speed. You'll be fine.

I do 70 on my 200cc Lambretta all the time.
