i know my cb77 has been repainted. Does the color of the frame designate the orginal color of the bike? also were all the fenders silver no matter what color the bike was?

the frame could have been painted.
a good bet would be to take the chrome side panel off of the gastank. a lot of times the repaint jobs just masked that off instead of taking it apart.

If the paintjob was done properly, however, then there probably shouldn't be any reminants of the old paint. Maybe if you scratch away the surface color you will find the original. Honda didn't use a primer, so if your bike was repainted, you'd scratch the surface paint, see the grey primer, and below the grey primer (if they left anything) would be the original color.

The 1967 (last issue bikes) had chrome fenders and Black frames. The 1961/2-1966 early 67 had Red/Silver, Black/Silver, Blue/Silver but the White bike had all White parts other than the tail light bracket and center stand. All center stands were Black. ........................lm

i have the bike semi torn apart now, and i would like to repaint the frame black., Did honda use a glossy finish or semi gloss? i am going to be spray painting the frame black, since it is already that color, just want to hide some of the spots where it has came off. Will just normal rustolem paint work for this?

I decided to skip the rustoleum and just use good paint on the frame as well. So correct me if i am wrong, Using the same glossy black paint i could paint the frame, tank, headlight, and pieces on my fork tubes that are currently black, and then use silver to paint the fenders and the side panels. this would be a semi correct color scheme? I will do a search for the paint #'s, i know i saw them somewhere
