Just picked up a couple of CB77s, paid 875 for them (that's uk pounds)

Planning to make one good one out of the two and ebay what's left.

The tank is dark green, side panels are in pretty ropey condition and have been sprayed black

that dark green reminds me of pictures i've seen of old british racing bikes.

Yeah it's not far off British Racing Green. Can't recall many road bikes that colour though, plenty of cars though. I think it originated when Formula 1 was created, each country had their own entry and their own colour. Explained better here:

Looks like the blue one is on Dunlop K70s, front & back. I had that setup in the early '70s on mine. Stuck to the road so well that I holed the tails of both silencers from cranking it over through the bends of Southampton (UK, not East Coast USA). Got to the stage where few of my mates would ride pillion without toilet paper on hand!
