Oil Change
Oil Change
How much oil do you put in when you change the oil, what kind, and what else should you do while you are doing a change?
The dealer told me not to use anything synthetic, is was too slick for the clutches.
Re: Oil Change
as i have no pride, i would rather reply with a disclaimer than let you see everyone look at this and not reply.

i went with the directions stamped on the lower end. 1.5 liter (just over 1 1/2 quarts), 30weight.

the disclaimer is that the rotor on my is separated and the new one has not shown up yet. so it isn't running.
Re: Oil Change
Since I just received my repro owner's manual, I can share what's in there. Oil should be changed every 1K miles. The crankcase oil capacity is 1.2 L (~2 Qt), but the, "oil required for an oil change is approx. 1-1/2 quarts." Also, "When checking the level, place the cap on the hole: do not screw it in."

I know there is a centrifugal oil filter, but the owner's manual does not describe how to clean that.

Tom

Re: Oil Change

Stupid question, but as I have no pride as well I might as well ask it:

10W30?
20W30?

...and just what is the difference anyway?perryT200
i went with the directions stamped on the lower end. 1.5 liter (just over 1 1/2 quarts), 30weight.
[quote wrote:
