newbie (i know another one) engine covers
ok i took both side covers to the engine off (transmission side and chain side) in order to clean them up sand them and repaint them. Now upon putting them back on the rear tire is locked up and the kick start doesnt move...Also on the transmission side it only has one gear...so obviously i missed something when putting them back. I know i know.. be gental with me im new to the motorcycle maintance... .lol

C/CA/CB/CL??
Sounds to me like the kickstart shaft shifted from it's preferred rest position before you put the r/h cover back, and now the pawl is locking the transmission. Take the r/h cover off again and, before refitting, rotate the splined kick shaft fully c/w, taking care to not damage the splines.
Just a thought..........

ok i tryed moving the kick shift to the right...it will only move maybe a quarter inch ...so i took off the tranmission side to see if that would "reset" the gears...still only one gear...i took a pic of the right side so maybe you could see if it looks as though something is missing...im lost at this point lol
