No center rib on my gas tankNo center rib on my gas tankHi guys, I recently purchased a 1965 CA77 Dream and am still trying to sort out what's original and what has been worked over. My gas tank doesn't have a standing seam on the top of the tank. Furthermore, the filler neck is centered on the tank. All of the pictures that I've seen have a standing seam and the filler is off-center on the right. Can anyone share the history about the dates of this change? . . . or do you think this might be a modified tank by others? I'll post a pic if it'll help. TIA
Re: No center rib on my gas tankhey, i've got a 65 dream and it's not like the tank you have. I don't think mine has a rib on the inside, but i'm not sure, however it does have the peckoc on the right side.

Re: No center rib on my gas tankSounds like the tank you have is an early. If so that tank was in use until in the early 63 run. Take good care of it they are getting rare. I'll trade you a good "center seam" tank for it anyday! "new lamps for old"<br /><br />Before you change it double check to make sure of your bikes date. Email me with your frame number I'll try to help if you need it.<br /><br />Rob
Old bikes like old men, sometimes you have to kick start them
Re: No center rib on my gas tankI'M pretty sure it's a 65 that's what the title says. mine looks just like that purple one only with less rust. MY rubber pads on the sides are diffrent than that also, i don't think my have those straight lines, they are of a diffrent design.

The frame number is CA78-1007752. I believe that this puts it squarely in the 1965 realm. The attached pic shows the tank.
