Are you using hi test gas? You should on the old dreams. It might help to run some Techron through the bike at low speed and high. You may have your low speed jet gummed up. (just a guess buddy).

What do you mean by Hi test? 93 octane? i've been running 87 in mine as it burs the best. I just recently had the carb cleaned, he said he un gummed it.

I have a original booklet from my 65 150 Dream and it required hi test (93 octane would qualify) so I am assunung that the 305 requires it also. My first tank through my 305 was 87 octane and when I put hi test in it for my second fill up I could hear anbd feel the difference.
R.

PS ... if they cleaned the carb by running something through it, that may not have cleansed the low speed jet. Someone jump in here if you know more than me on this matter. I am not sure if the pilot jet comes out without removing the carb but sometimes it reqires a manual cleaning with a small piece of wire if it is real bad... Again...this is just a guess because of some similiar probnems I had with another of my Hondas. Good luck.

ok, thanks for the advice, i will see how it runs with 93, all it has however is higher octane which would deter detonation. i have heard no pinging, but it will still be intersting to see how it preforms on this other octane gas.
