When my 67 cl77 arrived here it had a peanut tank installed and was quikly removed and discarded.
I sealed and used a tank from a cl72 and would now like to find a tank more correct for this model year.
I've read here abouts that Honda discontinued the cross over tube to the petcock to use the petcock with the post on it . Fuel above the stem is main supply and fuel below being reserve.
Two questions :
1 >With no crossover tube, how does the fuel get from the left saddle to the right? Seems like there would always be a good amount of gas there. Silly question I'm sure but just curious.
2 >With a frame # cl77 1058890, which tank is correct for this bike? Seam/ no seam, Tube /no tube?
I'm not loosing sleep over this but would really like to know. Thankyou, RW

Re: tank questions
Seam no cross over.
The fuel passes from side to side as ya turn right and left and some as you contact bumps in the road and stop and start in first gear. .....lm

Re: tank questions
okay..now i'm curious. So it appears that the seamless, cross-over tank is the earliest version.
That is what it is on my CL77E #1012822. I also have another tank, seamed, no-cross over.....my question is, "is there a seamed, cross-over tank, as well?

seam/seamless
I believe so, my 66CL-77 #1034582 tank is seamed with crossover(been that way since I acquired it in 1975 & it appeared to be a fairly original bike, but who knows?)
