CA77 carb kits with correct jets.

Post by onchiman » Sun Nov 01, 2009 7:48 am

Just want to let all know that if you buy a carb kit for the CA77 from Retro Bikes http://www.olypen.com/retro/, they include the correct 120 main and 35 slow jets. The kit is from Keyster and comes with 130 and 40. So you get two sets of jets! For $17 bucks you can't go wrong in my book. They also have the early round bowl carb gaskets.
Sorry about the double post. I should have put this here instead of the Carb section as it's for Dreams with the PW22 carbs only.

That's the set I wanted to order but couldn't remember the source!
Did the kit come with the little 2.8 mm o-ring for the air screw?
I ended up ordering this set since the picture looks like it includes the o-ring:
But then again, it might be just a shadow!
Scroll to first carb kit shown on page.

Definitely looks like an O-ring on the air screw to me, Brew.

Yes, the Keyster kit does come with the little o-ring that is supposed to go on the idle mixture screw. My carb however doesn't use that o-ring even though the parts diagram shows it. Apparently some of the PW22 carbs use it and others don't.

Thanks for the info Onchiman, at least now I know it does exist!
Now i don't know if mine had one originally and I dissolved it in the parts cleaner machine, or if it never had one to begin with.
My air screw has a groove under the head that could be a location for an o-ring, so I'm assuming that's where it would go.

Well, got my kit yesterday and it did NOT contain the mystery o-ring!
It is a Keyster kit also and was in a sealed plastic bag.
It had only 130 main and 40 slow jets, mine currently has 120 main and 35 slow and is rich in the upper rpm range.
Looks like you got the best deal, Onchiman

Maybe this is why some need the ring and some don't?
Attached pic of my old air screw beside new Keyster replacement.
If the o-ring goes just under the head, then the screws explain why.
