clutch sticking

Post by FLYHAVEN2001 » Tue Aug 23, 2005 4:30 pm

I've been going round and round on learning and adjusting the clutch on my CA77. It seems that on cold start-up(or if bike sits for alittle while) that when first shifting in gear bike will creep forward, which tells me clutch pack is sticking alittle. Clutch was cleaned. I also noticed that when it does this and I push bike backward alittle with clutch lever pulled in and in gear that this feels like it breaks it free and off I go. Seems most people were telling me to adjust clutch but, I just think that having old clutch disks causes this and you can adjust till your blue in the face and it will still do this.I had tore my other motor out of my bike because the shifter was locking up but I think it may be just the same deal with clutch trouble. I tore the bottom end of that motor apart but did not find any thing wrong to indicate a tranny problem so now I'm going to put it back together. Live and learn! Here's restoration project !
