left side engine cover removal

Any tips to getting this off? All the screws are out and it wont budge. I tried tapping it with a rubber mallet and it still won't budge.

Brian, did you remove the oil filter cover as well? It must be removed first. Some people glue the gaskets on, and it becomes like cement over the years. Keep whacking at it with the rubber mallet, I preffer a dead blow hammer, more bang for the buck!

Yes the oil filter cover is off.

It's either stuck on the dowels or the old gasket is sticking to both surfaces (or both).

use a rubber mallet lightly to crack it free.

I've tried the rubber mallet. I know it's sticking on the dowels and or the gasket. Maybe i should try a little heat using a heat gun?

Try hitting it on the front face where the filter fits. That gives you the maximum leverage. You may have to strike it fairly hard.
