Oil Guide

Post by djbarcy » Wed Sep 21, 2005 1:56 pm

Re-aquired my '65 305 Dream about 7 years ago, tore it down, tagged and bagged the parts, and am finally finishing up the restoration.
I have found everything but the "oil guide" (PT# 25571-259-000, also part #15 on page 70 of Bill Silver's guide)
Also, can't quite figure it's placement and/or function.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The part fits into the clutch lifter joint which fits into the end of the shaft before the pressure plate is installed. Be sure to replace the rubber "O" ring in the end of the shaft or oil will come out the other end of the shaft. .....................

Well, tore the place apart again and still no oil guide.
I will attempt to manufature my own but need some detailed specs, pix, diagrams please.
From the schematic it looks like a tube with a washer on the end and has a notch fro the pin.
But, I have no idea about length, hole size, if it is hollow all the way thru.
It also looks like it goes in after the plate/springs are installed. If so, what holds it in place.
I also don't see an o ring in the schematic.
Any additional help would be appreciated as this is the last piece it looks like I need before close her up.
Thanx
dan

The "O" Ring is in the end of the Main Shaft. Part #23211-259-010 and the number for the "O" ring is 91305-259-000. This MUST be tight on the Clutch Lifter Joint (the part that you need fits inside this part) so oil will not come out the shaft. ..........LM

Mouse are you talking about the oil seal in right side end of the shaft or on the left end of the shaft I only have seen seals , not orings in these unless I'm missing something.I'll have to look again at one I have apart.
