keyster carb kits for sale on ebay.. usable?

Post by nc_rider » Mon Sep 27, 2010 9:08 pm

I'm still working through issues created by a PO and it looks like someone might have put a keyster kit in at some point. The gaskets show age, but the jets and adjustment screws look new. I'll have to pull the carb apart to get a good look at the jets and determine whether they're oem, the right size, etc.. I searched around here and it looks like the gaskets aren't exact fit, the float valve has fitment issues, and the jets might be the wrong ones.. . so are they usable at all? If I find that a PO has put the keyster kit in then what do I need to replace? Adjustment screws? Jets? Float valve?

IMO , the jet needle is to be avoided, and I try to re-use all of the stock brass. Fast Fred may have some needles and or jets.
