I do not understand how to remove the rotor
I have looked at many previous posts and I am still not smart enough to figure it out. My engine was running, made a loud squeak.then was stuck. I took the right side engine cover off, and the engine could turn, squeak disappeared. I can see that the chain from the rotor to the starter motor seems to loosen up when turning the crank and kind of makes the engine stick. Therefore I want to take the stator and rotor off to look back there. The puller I see people recommending on here is just a bolt, don't I also need something to lock the rotor in place? It seems to me that I must lock the rotor in place so I can remove the bolt holding the rotor on, then screw the puller bolt in to that hole to remove the rotor. Is that right? Thank you

- Bike on centre-stand, roll the rear wheel by hand and and lift the shift pedal into 2nd gear
Place a wooden pole (a broom handle works) through the rear wheel spokes, close to the rim and under the mufflers (or swing arm)
With a 14mm shallow socket on a ratchet, wind the motor a/c/w with the rotor bolt until the pole locks the wheel
Once all the slack in the drive is taken up, swap the ratchet for a 14mm ring spanner (wrench), placing it at a convenient attitude, and smack it a/c/w with the palm of your hand
Remove the rotor bolt
Remove the r/h muffler, motor casing and stator
Screw in the puller bolt (assuming you already have one) and wind it as tight as you can whilst holding the rotor by hand
Give the puller bolt a sharp blow on its head with a heavy hammer (not a dead-blow or soft-faced type)
