Front End Rebuild
Front End RebuildI have a '64 CB77 that im doing a resto on and would like to get some info on rebuilding the front end. It had a real bad squeek in it and i pulled the forks, turned them upside down and they were bone dry. My question is how much fork oil is supposed to go into each fork? Also i have been ordering parts from http://classichondarestoration.com and they show fork seals for early and late CB77's. What is a 64 considered? Thanks in advance and here are some pics of it. So far ive rebuilt both carbs, rebuilt the petcock, performed a valve adjustment on it and changed out all the cables(all of it done after pics were taken)

Re: Front End RebuildYou have the early forks and 215 - 225cc of 10W oil. .................lm
Click on the FAQ link in the yellow toolbar on the left. Go to "How do I tune my factory stock motor on my CB72/77 or CL72/77 for optimum performance?" and follw Ed's tuning recpie to the T. You'll be glad you did!

How do you disassemble the forks once they are out of the triple trees? It appears that the chrome cover unscrews from the lower leg? It has some small holes like you are supposed to have a tool to get it off.
EDIT: Just found this in the suspension section. Is this what i need to get it off? http://www.honda305.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6878
