So: We know the Kenda Cruiser K671, size 100/90-16, is a good choice and a great price for the tires...but what about the RIMS?
Does anybody know an affordable, definitive (Make, Model, Size and Price) for the wheels? I know the Excel, D.I.D., etc etc stuff is like $100 a rim...does anybody know of any suitable substitute and size (Suzuki, Kawasaki, etc) that runs about $50 apiece? Can you use a 36-hole Suzuki (or other) rim??
And if so, what specific size tires are you running with them? Give us the whole set-up! :)
If any of you are running those Kenda 100/90-16's, what size and make are your rims, where did you buy them and for how much? Do the 1.85x16 rims fit those tires, or are you using something else, and What??
This way we can (in a way) put to rest all the seeming confusion about 'what kind of tires and wheels are you running, and where can I get them'??
Be specific, please...What rims, what size, what tires/what size, and where to get them....
Thanks!
John
OK: Now for the Wheels...

Ok well I JUST went through this same thing. I bought a set of Union Cycle Rims, from fleabay. They are 36 hole J16x1.85. The Kendas fit great on them. The problem I had was when it came to lacing. I had been fore warned however by Bill Silver that there would be an issue when it came to lacing. Because the "punches/holes" are drilled at an angle that is not quite right. So when I purchased spokes, they didn't fit as they should. However, a local guy was able to "custom bend them" or "tweak" them and got them to work. If I were to do it again, I think I would order the spokes and nipples from Buchanans. Even with all these little issues, I have to say that I am pretty happy with the end results. I have two original rims, but the chrome was pitting pretty badly. I took them to a local chrome shop and they said that it would cost too much to do the prep work and rechrome them. So unless you can find a pretty clean rim, that route is expensive. Good luck with whatever route you choose.

Thnaks for the info, KellieLynne; Yeah, it seems that unless you find some that came right from the factory in the 60's, ANYthing you use is going to need some tweaking..that's why I was wondering if anybody knows if there is a definite designation for, like, Suzuki wheels that might be interchangeable...
So it's Find Some Dream Wheels or nothing, it seems...
Hmmmm....makes my search more interesting, I guess...thanks, though...
