CA95 problem with cold start

Post by MrDreamer » Thu Oct 25, 2012 8:26 pm

Finally got my dream to run but the problem is that its very hard to kick start it in the morning. I have a battery connected but it doesn't hold charge very well. I know you can kick start even if the battery is dead so I dont think its the battery. The only way for me to start it is by jumping it with my car battery and using the electric start. It starts right up after the first try every time. And once the motor is warmed up I can kick start it with just one kick. Tried adjusting the choke and idle screw but still doesn't help. I know its running on a closed circuit so I've checked every bulb and they all work when the bike is running, so thats not the problem either. Anyone got any ideas as to what the problem might be? Thx in advance

Replace your battery. After that's done check your charging system.

Right......while you may be able to still start a bike with a weak dead battery IMO they really don't want to start without a good charged battery.

You should be able to get it to kick start off the jump though.
