air filters

Hi there, I have been just got my 67 scrambler after complete head rebuild, new pistons, rings gaskets etc My mechanic told me that the air filters that i bought the bike were not the right and recommended putting on some K and N pods. i wondered if anybody had any recommendations of which ones to go with.

The bike now has awsome compression, and whilst the head was being rebuilt, we rebuilt the brakes, replace the points, condencer, plugs, some cables and repainted the tank and panels.

Any pointers on the filters would be great.

Original style filters are available new, so are the tubes.

If you go with a pod filter I would recommend UNI over K&N.

Thanks for the tips guys, I actually currently have uni pods but my mechanic told me they were the wrong ones, he said they were meant for a dirt bike. I was wondering if these foam pods were making the bike run a little to hot?

Wrong ones - "for a dirt bike". Makes no sense to me. I doubt it is making the bike run hot. An extremely lean mixture might cause it to run a bit hot. A quick check of the plugs should tell if the mixture is correct.
