Tim, I think you're right regarding the old dream style heavy cam sprockets. And I have seen this type used on CB 72 61/62 engines too, including the "wrong" thread.

btw, these heavy sprockets are just nice for smooth riding, but I wonder if it's good for the life expectancy of the cam chain.
