CA78 Tachometer
CA78 Tachometer
Does anyone know the redline for a '66 CA78? I want to buy a small aftermarket tach and want to get the right range. Thanks.

It will fit and you will need to have the left side cam shaft to drive the cable.
That said you will need to change to CB72/77 cams and cut away one of the sprocket flanges on the left side cam.
What tack unit do you intend on using? .............lm

Garncarz,
If you don't want to go through the hassle of modifying your engine to accomdate a mechanical tach, you can install one of these electrical tachs. There is a wiring diagram at the end of the ad, just scroll down.
I know its not OEM, but it's chrome/white faced and will clamp onto the handlebars as a bracket is included.
