I am trying to run the clutch cable after a rebuild and want to know the correct path it should take. Does it follow the cavity to above the airbox then down? or does it follow the external frame under the tank? I havent found a diagram showing the route
Also I noted there is a 7mm small ball bearing between the throw out adjuster or clutch lifter thread and the push rod for the clutch. I dont see this on any of the exploded diagrams. Is this a clever way of getting around a stretched cable or worn clutch items. It is a pain as it falls out when trying to put the cover back on. The clutch appears ok so I might leave out
thanks
Greg

Which model and year? Cable routing varied a little. The route out of the side cover changed on Dreams at some point.
The ball-bearing provides a bearing for the push rod end to work on. Put some grease in there (it needs lubrication) and it won't drop out. Don't forget the rod rotates when the engine is running.

No, I think your cable is too short. It should go around the steering head as you have it, but then between the tank and frame, above the steering lock and tank mount, and come down around where the petcock is. The front brake cable on the other side looks a little out-of-whack too but I can't see it too well. Speedo cable looks good. Here's how I think they go...
