The cable has gone too far inside. How do I get it out or disconnected on this 305 ?

Thanks for even replying"......".....long day in the shop....so here goes again. I'm replacing grips on the 305 dream. I took the brake off after cutting the old grip off and turned the throttle tube, the cable end disappeared inside the tube and I can't seem to get it out again. What do I need to do? 67 ca77

unscrew the carb top. remove with the slide. remove cable from slide. this will free up the cable and you can push it back from the carb end.
Good luck
