CB77 VIN# with 5 digits? Also has D&K stamped on it.
So I was told that the bike was a 1965. The Serial number on the frame is CB77-206XX...only five digits. I thought it was either 6 or 7? It also has in small print "D&K" stamped between the CB77 and the serial code. Does anyone know what this is?
The harness has a 1965 code, and the engine has CB77E-210XXX. So I could have a mix of years, but the frame has me wondering. Any serial number masters out there?

Welcome to the forum!
The 2 at the beginning of chassis and frame number indicate 1962. How many numbers separate the last 3 digits of each?
Not sure about the D&K. 1962 is a pretty early (and therefore interesting) bike. Please post some pics..

The Frame is 20606 and engine is 210592... so I'm not sure if its the original engine or not. Since the harness is a says 1965 I think someone was messing with it, but the plates said it was last licensed in 1971, and it had the dust to prove it!

Thanks for the pics. With only 14 numbers between engine and frame those certainly belong together. Genuine bikes can have a difference of 200-300.
Definitely a '62 but it looks like you have a replacement wiring harness. Shocks are aftermarket. Front fender has been messed with somewhat.
Great project though, and worth preserving as a nice '62 bike.
I'm doing a resto thread on my '61 bike. Th early ones are rather oddball but '62 bikes also have some different features.
