Throttle twist grip questions.

Finally got a throttle tube.
Not quite sure about assembling it into its housing.

There is an embedded pin (picture) in the front of the bottom half of the housing. The raised part of the throttle tube (picture) bumps against it and won't go past it. How is it supposed to be?

The bolt/locknut (picture) on the bottom - what is its function?

The pin is the IDLE stop for the cable.
Inside the assy. was a "U" shaped metal pierce which when the screw was adjusted would apply pressure to the tube.
I don't install that part any more as I want my cable to return to idle when I release the grip. ........lm

OK. I will toss the adjustable bolt and call the hole a "drain hole".

If I understand you correctly. the boss holding the cable barrel end rests against that pin at closed throttle.

Maybe I will just back the bolt off. Probably the safest place to keep it.
