Is there any advantage to using non ethanol gas in my 305 CL also. When I try to start from cold it can take 6-8 kicks any suggestions, Thanks

We don't have much ethanol in fuel in teh UK so I cannot answer that.

As for starting, you just need to go through all the things that can affect it.

Are the carbs clean?
Is the float level correct?
Are you using the choke correctly? (Up for choke on. Down to run once warmed up)
Is the ignition timing and valve timing right?
Good plugs?
Good Compression?
Etc.
