Early Spark Advance?

Post by Dr. Frankenstein » Wed Jan 16, 2019 7:46 am

The '62 305 I'm working on is missing (or appears to be missing) a spark advance.

The CA77 Parts List manual does not show one on the end of the rotor bolt. I would think it would be on page 34 or 36 of the parts list, but it doesn't show one...or am I missing it somewhere? Or does it fit onto the end of Part #21 I(the Starting Sprocket), and is just not shown?

Does the '62 CA77E *Have a spark advance?? And if so, is it left-handed, by any chance?

It's hidden inside the cam sprocket.

Yes, I finally figured that out; I was just taken aback a bit because I'm so used to seeing the spark advance on the rotor. I took a look at another manual I have and there it was. Maybe I was thinking about the CA95.
