Shaft points cb77

Post by Keith762 » Sat May 03, 2025 7:39 am

Hi
I am building a 1965 cb77 out of bits but cannot get the points timing right.
Does the points shaft have one lobe or two opposite each other?

Neither. There are two lobes but if you look at the cam followers on the points you will see that they are 90° apart. This is because of the 180° offset on the crankshaft. (The camshaft rotates at half the speed of the crankshaft.)
