Re: trans replacementIf they are both C/CA72/77 engines----YES. ..........lm
Trans ReplacementHey LM, So, is there a difference between the CA and the CB/CL trans? I guess I always figured that basically the C/CA/CB/CL motors were pretty much the same except for the crankshaft configuration, ignition (1 set of point vs 2 sets), carbs (1 vs 2) and maybe camshafts. Of course there's lack of the electric starter on the CL and that the crank isn't drilled to oil the starter drive (learned that one from you LM). I'm interested in the answer to the differences because I've got a CB77 that someone had previously installed a CA77 motor in. I was looking for an actual CB77 motor to replace it with (Cheaply as possible) and now, I'm thinking about changing out the obvious (Head, ignition & carbs for sure). I don't have much of a budget, so I just have to get what I can when I can. Any info would be appreciated. Later on, Bill
Re: Trans ReplacementThe Dream engines have a different gear ratio than the Super Hawk/Scrambler engines.
At times the CB/CL engines are offered on eBay and one just finished but didn't sell. Usually the cost to ship is high. ................lm
Trans ReplacementSO, since I'm looking to replace the trans anyway, there shouldn't be a problem. Yeah, that shipping thing gets in the way most of the time. If I ever do turn one up within my reach and for a decent price, it's gone. Like the chances of that happening are going to be good. Thanks, Bill
Trans ReplacementAre you talking a CB77 trans? Do you mean just the trans compoments or just the 2 shafts
with the gears? I don't have any idea what the shipping would be. I'm sending you a PM as soon as I can, this morning. I appreciate the attempt to help me out but, like you say shipping costs can derail things so easily. I'll be getting with you ASAP. Thanks again, Bill
