Timothy,

Check out your frame number. Left side down by the brake light switch. Yours should be a CA77 10XXX (5 digits, not 6). The "body parts" on any bike that has a CA78 frame number will probably not fit. I beg to differ with G-man a little. The transition from CA77 to CA78 took place in mid 1963. The parts manuals indicate that the transition took place beginning in 1964 but I am convinced they are incorrect, having come across 12 1963 CA78's.

On a CA77 there should not be a Honda emblem under the headlight. If the holes are there to mount it, someone either drilled them, or perhpas put CA78 headlight bucket on your bike. IF the holes are there, might as well put one on.

Get a parts manual and study the numbers for parts you want to get. There are different side covers, so make sure the bolt you get will fit. CA77 should have the early "twist grip" throttle and not the later kind with the hinge inside the handlebar. If you need the whole starter switch, make sure you get the right one for your handle bar set up. As far as I know the pistons and timing chain should not be an issue, but if you put CB or CL pistons in your CA, you will be dropping your compression ratio.

Hope this helps.
