Rear Sprocket

Post by Rookie305 » Tue Jul 25, 2006 11:12 am

I just purchased a rear sprocket on ebay the other day. The rear sprocket I have on my Dream has 29 teeth. The one I purchased on ebay has 34 teeth. Is it ok to replace the sprocket with one that has more teeth? I know I will have to buy a new chain. Has anyone done this before, will it work ok, and what will happen to the riding of the bike if I replace it? Any help would be great. Thanks.

I'm new to the CA77, but generally adding a larger rear sprocket will give the bike more power, but reduce top speed.

I don't know if it will have an ill effect on the CA77, maybe someone else here can answer that.

Rook, Sounds like they sold you a CB sprocket, I don't know if the bolt spacing is the same or not but if they line up it should work(assuming it is for a 530 chain) add a few links and go! Steve greer

CA77's take a 525 chain.I would return it and get the right one.If they said it was for a CA77 they are wrong and should take it back.
