Need Help

Post by FLOYD76 » Sat Nov 29, 2025 1:41 am

I bought a 1965 Honda dream. it's a basket case it needs a lot of parts. I don't know if it's a CA77 or a CA78. the frame has CA78 and the motor has CA77. any help will be appreciated.

Hey there, Floyd76! Welcome to the honda305 forum!

CA77 and CA78 are more or less the same thing. From your Dream Registry entry, https://www.honda305.com/dream/registry (thank you for adding your bike!), your numbers are in line as a matched frame/motor set.

Please post a few photos to give people a better idea about where you're starting from. Describe what seems like the worst part that you'd like to improve.

My favorite approach is to sort out (or at least clean and test) all the electrical contacts and connection points. Following that, cleaning the carburetor pays good dividends. By the time you've done the first several steps, you will know your bike a lot better and the next steps will reveal themselves, ...but start from the beginning.
