If beat blasting a used cylinder head, it's only is more time consuming, but the results will be comparable,

After bead-blasting a used head/cylinder, if you spray lightly with a high-temp flat silver or dull aluminum paint, it looks very close to original. And after running (or baking in an oven) for an hour, the paint is very durable and provides an easy-to-clean surface. --Randall

Hi,

Yes, I think it will be the same color, can you show us pictures to compare ?
The picture of the nos head (non-blasted) is to compare. Are you sure to use dull aluminum ?
As you can see on the pictures, the surface isn't dull, but shiny (not glossy).

I don't have any photos, unfortunately. But I have used this treatment on about 6 bikes that I restored, and it works very well. You don't want to use a bright silver or aluminum soray, since these are glossy and look "painted". The dull or flat sprays have a metal-like sheen when cured.

The way i had my parts done is by vapour blasting, gets the parts shining like new and no paint required!
