My early '64 305 Dream's cylinder head caps seem to be the ugliest part of my rebuild (a PO probably used a pipe wrench on them or something as the hexes are pretty chewed up). So I just started looking for replacements. I found some, so I'm not worried about getting my hands on some, but mine don't look like the ones everyone is selling.

Anyone else's look different than these? Was there a revision somewhere along the line?
Mine are less domed, and have an angled portion by the hex and descending to a flat annular section at the edge. You could say they're flared instead of domed. Maybe the ones I have are a compatible, but incorrect set from a different bike?
Any insight would be most appreciated!

Bob,
Honda had 3 different issues of the tappet covers that I am aware of. If you look at my photo I think the one you have is shown on the left, part number 12361-259-000. The one on the right is the early domed version, 12361-268-000.
Regards- Tom
