Unscrew the tappet covers and squirt some motor oil around to wet down the cam lobes and the valve stems.

It was parked because my Dad felt he was no longer physically able to safely handle the bike.

It's also likely the clutch plates might be stuck together. Sometimes they can be worked free after the motor is started and warmed up. You might have to go into the left side case and free them but you might get lucky.

Yes. I expect to have clutch plate issues and asked about this in another thread. Since I'm prepping the bike for sale, I really want everything to be functioning properly for any potential buyers.
