I use base / clear on metallic pains but not on the solid covers.
This is my 'personalised CL77' which still needs finishing. The blue is a rover car color.
I have been having random crazing problems when I clearcoat over silver but not on normal colors. I have some fenders to do so I am going to take great care with those.
I do my own polishing but don't really enjoy it.
I'll take a look in my speedo collection for you........

If I could get around $250 for a few parts then I would only be in this bike for about $100 which makes me a bit happier. It's been a couple of years since I did the last one and it seems parts are harder to find and more expensive - I looks like rims and spokes are close to $300.
I am including a pic of a 1975 CB450 (350F in background). Note much of the aluminum has been polished. I polish a bit of stuff for local folks that are restoring - I owe you one so if you have something you need polished send it off - free to you.
Thanks - Don
