Where can I get JIS Screws?

Post by Kigsby » Thu Mar 21, 2013 3:33 pm

I called Ohio Cycle to get the M5 .09 x 25 JIS screws for my '62 CA77 but they have a minimum order of $20 and I don't need to buy anything else. Any other place that sells these screws?

Hi Kigs - What may work is to take the common M5 .8 pitch screws and run them through a .9 die which for some reason comes in most tap and die sets. The threads won't be perfect, but you won't have to destroy the threads in your tank. My nature is to leave expensive vintage parts as-is. I've done this with the 3mm tail light lens screws with good success and I bet it would work with the petcock screws as well.
